It is cathartic to clear out the past in this way. I burn or tear up my journals as I journey through to the next stage in my healing. Letting go in this way is good for the soul 🙏🏻☺️

It is sad but I respect you for doing it. I recently moved and had to leave behind or give away lots of belongings, art, tech. It’s weird to not really know where my things are, like I don’t even remember where some of the important things are that I stored away. But freedom sometimes requires a bit of letting go. Your creativity is always in you, not tucked away in notebooks.

This is so thoughtfully considered and caringly articulated that it is prompting me to do the same. What advice would you give to either yourself leading up to the burning or someone who wants to do something similar to help get over the proverbial hurdle of not wanting to let go?

I’m glad I made it to that clarity. I read through them and had a tripod with my camera on it to take pictures of any pages I found interesting. I read them and saw the patterns. I spent time with them before saying goodbye and kept a few that stood out that were worth remembering
